It was on September 24th in 2021 that the iPad Mini 6 was released. Now just about 3 years later (October 23rd 2024), Apple finally released an updated version - the iPad Mini A17 Pro (as Apple calls it). For simplicity, we will just call it the iPad Mini 7.

So what's new? 

A17 Pro Chip

First of all, it has got the A17 Pro chip, upgraded from the Mini 6's A15 chip. This translates to a much smoother experience when it comes to web browsing, watching videos and playing games. Also, it will be able to support Apple Intelligence which is built into iPadOS 18.

Wi-Fi 6E

It supports Wi-Fi 6E wherever that is available. This means it adds support for the 6GHz spectrum and will provide faster wireless speed, IF you are in an environment with WI-Fi 6E. 

Apple Pencil

This iPad Mini only works with the newer Apple Pencils - the Pro and USB-C version. So unfortunately it won't work with Apple Pencil 2.

Do we have a Cooling Case for it?

YES! In fact, we have got 2 Cooling Cases for it!

Physically, the iPad Mini 7 has got the exact same dimensions as the iPad Mini 6 and all the buttons are in the same locations and have similar sizes.

This means both the iPad Mini 6 Cooling Case with Pencil Holder and the regular iPad Mini 6 Cooling Case with fit the new iPad Mini 7!

One last thing
